New Day

Today is the first day of Spring, Norouz (New Day). We went over to my mothers house and spent time with family and did exactly what this day is intended for. Reflection of the past year and hope for a better and healthier new year is always the strongest wishes on this day. A lot of people are upset with the rain and the damage its causing. My laundry room is suffering right now, but thankfully we have marble floors (how Persian of us!) so its not so terribly bad. With all the rain and all the sweeping of the water out of my laundry room to outside, Im still happy it rained. I view it as a cleansing. After all, we do our annual cleaning of the house to prepare for the new year so its only fitting that it also rained to clean up the air and streets =)

I received many well wishes for the upcoming year and am really thankful for the people in my life. All, really solid human beings. I wish you all a VERY happy and healthy Norouz! Thank you for showing your grace and respect towards the cultures of the world that many of you have no tie to other than friends and extended family. Your light shines brightly.
